Old Possum's Book of
Practical Cats |
First published in 1939, this work by T.S.Eliot is well
known for its inspiration of
the musical Cats, by Sir Andrew Lloyd
Webber. This collection of poems about the amusing antics and characters
of cats and of people portray both the virtues and the failings of the
cats being described. I am sure that if you are a cat-lover you will
recognize many instances of familiar feline
behaviour,
and also see numerous parallels to human attitudes and behaviour.
