Catwoman (Selina Kyle) made her debut in1940's Batman as a jewel thief. This was to be the beginning of Gotham City's most seductive anti-hero. Her creators, Bill Finger and Bob Kane wanted to add a romantic interest to the comic strip, also they felt that it would appeal to a more wider public. Since then Catwoman has been played by numerous woman and has appeared in a variety of media, from comics and television to movies.  

She gets her name not only because of her profession, but also to her cat-like qualities. Cunning, stealthy, and mysterious, Catwoman can stand her ground in a fight with any man, and is sometimes the sex kitten and sometimes the steely avenger, as she prowls the streets of Gotham City in search of booty. Halle Berry plays Catwoman in the latest (2004) movie.
