The Swimming Cats

Laura Lushington brought the first pair of Turkish Van Cats back to England  in 1955, they became known as " Swimming Cats." The reason for this was, when Laura was driving through Turkey in the intense heat, she stopped to cool off in a river and to her astonishment so too did her newly acquired kittens. They soon swam out of their depth thoroughly enjoying themselves.
