Feline Kneading
When kittens
are feeding at the mother's nipple, you will see
them making slow kneading movements. First with one paw, then the other. These
movements, which are accompanied by loud
purring, are important as they help to
stimulate the milk flow from the
mother.
The adult cat will sometimes revert back to kittenhood, and
start going through the motions of milk-treading on its owner. This, for your
cat, is a warm and loving moment and can be accompanied by dribbling as it
interacts between its pseudo-parent. It can be quite the opposite for the owner,
especially when pricked by your cat's sharp claws and dampened with cat-dribble!
