There have been mutations appearing among domestic cats causing the front legs to be much shorter. This bizarre mutation makes the animal look like a kangaroo when adopting the sitting up posture.

The earliest sightings of short front-legged cats are from England during the1930's. Veterinary records show that Dr. H. E. Williams-Jones documented four generations of short-limbed cats in England in 1944.
