Eponine
This cat belonged to French poet and novelist Théophile
Gautier. Eponine, a green-eyed black cat who had a place set for her
at the author's dinner table. It was said that she sat at the table with her
paws folded on the tablecloth, like a well-bred child. The cat went right
through dinner, dish by dish, always waiting for her turn to be helped.
