The
Bobcat Company of Fargo, North Dakota, USA, formerly the Melroe Company has
been manufacturing the Bobcat® since 1958. In 1996 the company was bought by Ingersoll Rand, but operates
independently with over 900 dealers worldwide.
It
began as a three wheel farm implement, and has developed into what is
now known as a skid-steer loader. There are10 Skid-Steer models, four
Compact Track Loaders, two All-wheel Steer, one Mini-track Loader, three
Loader Backhoes, five Excavators, three Versa Handlers, two Workmate Utility
Vehicles, one Toolcat 5600 Utility Machine, and over 40 high performance
attachments.
